WHY DO WE HAVE LLAMAS AT OAKLEIGH FARM?

Since 1986 llamas have graced the pastures of Oakleigh Farm, and since 1988 we have been taking them into the show ring.  Llamas compete inwpe10238.gif (30605 bytes) hundreds of ALSA sanctioned shows around the country.  Some of the places you can see llamas locally in competition are the State Fair of Texas in Dallas, the Houston Livestock Show, the Fort Worth Stock Show, the State Fair of Oklahoma, the Tulsa State Fair, and the San Angelo Stock Show.  The list goes on and on.

Our goal at Oakleigh Farm is to produce quality llamas with sound conformation and good minds so they can succeed in the show or simply bring pure pleasure as pets.  We have llamas for sale to meet your needs and pocket books.    We welcome visitors and always enjoy sharing the beauty of llamas!

Our state organization is called South Central Llama Association and sponsors regional qualifying youth shows where young folks can learn to show their llamas in an easy and non-threatening environment.  Those who qualify get to go to San Antonio for the finals.  This young man owns and shows Oakleigh Cactus Cowboy.

This young lady is competing in a pack race and obstacle course with her llama, Oakleigh Magnum Opus.   What other animal would be so agreeable with a child on crutches??

This little lady loves her llama, KLR Timone.  They are quite a pair in the show ring, having won several ribbons including showmanship and obstacle.

What a pleasure it was to share our llamas with the children at the  Handicapable Rodeo organized by the Paris Rodeo and Horse Club.  Oakleigh Silver River definitely brought joy to the eyes of these special children!!

If you still wonder why one would want to own llamas, take a look at these pictures again!!
